[When did Tycoon get here? She isn't going to sweat the details either, but boy, he's sure getting mileage out of that ninja thing - and it's sorely needed support, as Rhodonite immediately feels some of the pressure ease, attacks coming less often, giving her more time to reinforce her barrier with layers between hits. She's not getting pushed back as far, but the clock's still dangerously close to zero before she needs to move or she'll be moved by a hit she can't tank anymore. Thunk, slide, the newcomer buys them more space with fire (ooh). Thunk, sliiiiide, she's close enough to hear Koi's panicked breathing, Cinnabar's got it blind and she tries to keep going just a little longer, it's going to be fine-

-her fingers fumble and the shield drops; she knows, instinctively, it's from standing in this water for what feels like forever even if it's only been minutes. The next tentacle comes and it's going to hit her, and despite herself, despite all her practice and her bravado, she flinches, knowing she's about to get thrown into the wall on an express trip-

-Koi's scream in her ear makes her open her eyes (when did she close them?) and look up. There's a new barrier, one that isn't hers, and the water's being pushed back. The tentacle's being pushed back, and she watches the moment it collides with the new magical effect that, somehow, has to be coming from Koi; some tiny part of Lisa's brain decides she owes Nene a basket of cookies for this. For a beat, all she can do is watch the spell and marvel. It's cliche, but it's exactly what they needed, at exactly the moment they needed it.

Then the newcomer attacks the tentacle again, and reality reasserts itself. Koi's bought them time, but this isn't going to last forever, and they need to get out of the way so Cinnabar can regroup with them and everyone can focus their attacks forward. Rhodonite's tone is softer when she addresses the girl again, if still tense.]

Great work! I knew you had it in you, Koi-chan. [An unsure glance up, and Rhodonite makes a show of trying to flex her fingers; they'll work a bit longer, but the girls are on borrowed time.] Think you can hold it for a bit? Or are we running?
