[ Never mind the fact that she's saying this to a man who is obviously much older than her.. ]

It's not like I'm an elementary school kid anymore. Everything is more serious now.

Maybe more than elementary school, but that's, uh - that's not a very high bar. You're not gonna really be a grown-up until you're eighteen, and even that's - I mean, it's not like you're not still a kid then, just legally speaking -

[ Sorry, Bruno. Unfortunately it seems like all of this is going right over the kid's head, no matter how much sense it makes and objectively true it is..

The fact that she's not really getting it likely becomes more clear when she says, after a second of thought: ]

.. didn't you have to take care of stuff when you were my age? [ Or, no, wait, she realizes, more specifically-- ] Weren't you also a Dreamer back then?

[ Wasn't on my own. Something about those words hit her hard. It makes Illya wonder if maybe her situation is different from the usual after all-- but she can't imagine it is. Doesn't everyone have parents who work hard? Who might not have all that much time for you, especially when they're on the other side of the world?

[ Sorry for the questions.. It's kind of inevitable when a young kid is involved, huh. Of course Illya is going to want to know in order to try and figure out her own situation more. Or just how to deal with any of this. ]

Other Dreamers..?

Y-eah. Yeah. I had, um, a team. Back then.

[He picks at the hem of one of his long flowing sleeves, sort of trying to hide his mounting nerves and pretty much totally failing.]

They, they weren't any more experienced than me, um...there weren't a lot of Dreamers back then in general. Not like it is now. But figuring things out together was...easier. Than it would've been otherwise.

[ There's a slight pause.

Even a girl as young as Prisma realizes this could be kind of a delicate question. But she can't help it. She can't help but-- but wonder, especially when she doesn't think she's ever seen the other together with a team. Maybe this is something she should know too for the future. It could be important, right?

So, slightly hesitantly, she asks: ]

But you're not part of a team anymore..?

No. No, but um - it was just. A me thing. I think most teams usually stay together!

[He doesn't want her to worry about what might happen if she ever found one!]

[ Too late. She's worrying. She's always worried!

In fact, the girl is double worried now. Not only is she worried about what this might mean for her own experience with a team, but she's also worried for him.. especially when he sounds so strange as he's talking about this? He certainly doesn't sound like someone who was happy with that development. And though she wants to ask, she's a little hesitant.. After all, can she really dig into an adult's business like that? It just doesn't seem right.

[ Maybe that's the best thing to say here. As long as she's reading his tone right about the fact he doesn't seem to be too happy about it, anyway.. ]

I-- I think you could probably find a new team though. If you wanted to be in one, I mean. [ She carefully suggests. ] Your rats are really cool, after all.

Heh, uh. Nah, I'm not really the kind of person -

[wait no that's super self-deprecating]

- UH. I mean! I work alone!

[reluctants]

[ That sort of statement can only lead to one inevitable question, especially when it comes to kids. ]

Um....it's. Just. [.....] I'm not really a good person to be on a team with, I guess.

[reluctants]

I don't-- [ --think so, she wants to say.

But it feels a little forward. It's not like her to go that intensely up against something an adult says. But something about the words still doesn't sit entirely right with the girl either. ]

.. but you're a strong, competent Dreamer, right? Wouldn't anyone want to be in a team with someone like that..? [ There, that approach feels a little better to her. It feels less like going up against what he's saying, and more like building him up! ]

Um, well...not necessarily! There's a lot of Dreamers around! You don't have to, uh, take what you can get.

[Anyway, his powers being what they are...sure, it can come in handy in the Dream Sphere, but the problem is that you still end up associated with Bruno in the world outside. Though, now that he's a stranger here, if he hid his prophecy power then maybe...?

But they just come on sometimes. He can't hide it forever. Anyway, he's not sure this false identity could stand up to being known as a Dreamer.]
