[he shakes his head] No, she has her own cafe back in Tokyo. It's called the 'Milk Dipper'... A little like the constellation?

The Camellia's still technically a family business. Except it's the Yugi family instead. The proprietress is very kind and does most of the cooking here. It's got a very homecooked taste to the menu.

Oh, I see, I see. That's nice, it's, uh. That's more what I'm used to than the big chains, I guess.

[Not that they don't have these things in Colombia, generally, but not so much in the Encanto.]

There is something really nice about the smaller cafes, isn't it? I think being able to make their own themes adds to each stores' charm.

Were you from a more rural area? Where there aren't as many chains? [he's a city boy, living a city life...]

Yeah, yeah. It was, um. Sort of a small town, up in the - mountains.

[Where did he say he was from? Does that make sense geographically? Well, the kid's probably not going to google it.]

So not that easy to get in and out. Most everything was local businesses.

Oooh... That would make sense for everything to be local, if it's up in the mountains like that.

Is it common for people to leave? Or- [a pause as he realizes that his question might be a little too invasive] Oh, if it's something personal, you don't have to answer!

Um...not really. You'd think it would be, 'cause of jobs and all, but in practice...yeah, not too common.

[That's...fine. It's true that people didn't often leave the Encanto. Fortunately, Bruno never really had to deal with the consequences; he never told anyone he was going, and everybody probably thinks he just vanished into the Dream Sphere like people do sometimes. When you think about it, he sort of did.]

Huh... That sounds cozy. [he smiles, a little lopsided and completely unaware of Bruno's thoughts] I know city life is probably different, but I'd probably be like them too. It's nice to be somewhere you're comfortable and with friends and family.

Though it's good to get a different perspective too. How does it go? 'Some things stay the same'?

Mmm, yeah...I don't know that I ever really thought I'd leave.

[And he probably wouldn't have, if he were just some normal person. His reasons weren't exactly the normal ones, he guesses - ambition or wanderlust or whatever.]

That's good though, isn't it? Even if it's nothing super amazing, at least it hasn't been bad either, right?

[he laughs a little sheepishly] The idea of moving away from my family was scary enough, I can't even begin imagining what it would be like moving out of the country. So I think it's pretty admirable.

[He did not have a good time after leaving home. Not until he came here, really - Yumemigaoka actually has been more-or-less fine. Especially after getting settled; he never really settled down anywhere else before that.]

I-it, um. It was. Not something I ever thought I'd do either. I just, uh. Guess I thought I needed a change?

[Keiwa's head tilts slightly at the tone Bruno has when he replies. Did... Did he miss something? But he's not the nosy sort, so he shuffles a little awkwardly until Bruno continues]

Going from a small, rural town to a city is... Quite a change, isn't it?

Um. Yeah, but I didn't go straight from there to here. I'd lived a few other different places in between. Kinda...bounced around a bit. Between different jobs!

[He adds, remembering that this is generally a good excuse!]

Oh, uh. Yeah, I guess. I think I've, uh, kinda mostly got my feet under me.

[Granted: he secretly lives in a supply closet in the basement. But that's a lot nicer than most places he's lived after he left home! And anyway, even though he's managed to hold onto his job, getting stuck in the Dream Sphere like that only proved why it'd be dangerous to be somewhere else - imagine if he'd missed rent or something, and people had found him like that? No one can ask you any questions if no one knows who you are or really anything much about you!]

[he doesn't know about the supply closet thing, otherwise he'd be much more concerned. Whether that's because he's not sure if that's a safe place to sleep or some sort of legal violation is a mystery best left unacknowledged]
