[Once she's allowed back into the Dreamsphere, Ruby is on a mission to get back at every creature who's out to humiliate her. The Sleeping Grotto can wait, but right now her target is a certain Dreamer Omen who managed to evade her last time.

Her bright idea? Go into the maze and leave some delectable pieces of dream cheese in a path leading straight to her. This way she can lure one of his little stone rat buddies into a trap and have the upper hand this time. As for anybody who happens to end up behind her...]

AHA!!

[She lets out a blinding flash and turns around.]

Huh? You're not––speak up next time first!

[thezekeinator]

Agh!

[Where comedic suffering can be found, there too will you find Dreamer Chaosbringer as its victim -- in this case, with one hand over his unpatched eye, the other flailing around with his sword in every direction but Soleil's. She isn't the enemy here, just the antagonist.]

Why is that your first reaction?!

[rubykomachi]

Chaos-kun!

[Okay, she feels a little more bad than she would a normal person since he's only got one good eye, but she still huffs a little.]

I thought you might be Omen! I'm trying to catch him off guard this time!

[thezekeinator]

[Right. Definitely only one good eye.]

And do what, blind him? And then what, knife him?!

[His guesses may not be very charitable, what with the blinding and all.]

...if I stab him, he's definitely not gonna answer my questions about his visions. The sneak attack is more like, uh--persuasion! Since he wasn't up for talking when I asked nicely!

[thezekeinator]

And so... it seemed like a good idea to corner him and make him talk?

[Chaosbringer finds himself abruptly and thoroughly re-evaluating just what his generation is teaching these kids.]

Well, when you put it like that, it sounds like a crime. What else am I gonna do if he immediately runs away?

If I say 'respect his desire not to talk about stuff', you're just gonna tune me out, aren't you?

[...the younger generation of Dreamers is exhausting. He was definitely never this bad!]

[Dreamer Omen usually does have a few of his battle-rats summoned already, anytime he's wandering around the Dream Sphere. The weight of them is comforting, as used to carrying his real waking-world pets as he is, and at his experience level he doesn't really feel the power it takes for one or two anymore. But they're usually in his cloak somewhere. Definitely not out and about searching for cheese.

He is out and about on the upper levels of the Necropolis, though, and catches sight of this whole thing from the edge of a ledge. Bruno cringes back, old terror pounding through him. He should just wake up now - though, is it really safe there either, if people are after him again?

He's high up. For now, he watches, just to see what she's doing. Maybe - maybe he's just being paranoid! Maybe this is somehow not about him at all!!!]

[rubykomachi]

[Soleil sees that she's just been tricked by a normal shadow and Omen is nowhere in sight, and lets out a little 'tch'. Not here. What if he's already watching her through the rats? How can she get the jump on him right now?

She sets up a little box over the biggest piece of dream cheese she has and attaches her whip to a little stick before she starts to look around for a good spot in the maze to hide.]

Do rock rats even like cheese?

[Should she just ask Aqua to help her figure out Omen's identity? She doesn't want to doxx this guy, necessarily, but if he won't show himself, what else can she do? The bad stuff he was talking about last time was probably Hibiki's Disturbance. If she caught him, could she have known how to prevent it?]

Ugh, isn't a prophecy supposed to give you hints? This damn guy...

[Oh. Nope. Definitely looking for him.

This is the same sort of thing that drove him out of the Encanto, really. Even his own family got sick of him and his useless prophecies - maybe if he'd been helpful, the bad publicity wouldn't have mattered so much. But he's just the same as ever. Bad Luck Bruno, bringing ill news and absolutely no way to prevent it.

He backs up, then turns away from the ledge in a swirl of dark cloak and heads back into the tunnels. Waking up doesn't sound great right now. There's other people there, and though he's not Dreamer Omen there...well, he always knows he's just lying. It's not comforting.]

[rubykomachi]

[She paces around in a circle.]

What do I even say when I've got him? [She clears her throat.]

Alright, tell me who's gonna have problems that get them abducted by the Dream Sphere next! And is it gonna be any more of my friends?! Or is there gonna be another party crashing disaster?? Help me out here!

Should I include a "please, Omen-sensei!" in there to really sell it? Nobody's so heartless that they'll turn down a cute girl in need of guidance...

[Omen hangs around in the tunnels for a while. That's been pretty standard lately; he's felt a lot less social since everything blew up, since he started being known around here for prophecies, since...well, honestly, since Ruby first tried to run him down. It's not her fault! She's a good kid! He's just...you know, he's him. He can't get caught now.

Eventually, though, he does come creeping out again. Is she still around?]

[rubykomachi]

[Soleil takes a brief patrol around the tunnels before she's considering giving up, and it's right then when she sees someone. Wait, that cloak! That's--]

There you are! [She runs forward but quickly skids to a stop. Given Chaos earlier assumed she was going to shank him, Soleil figures she should hesitate a little bit before tackling him this time.] Don't run away from me this time! Just stay put for two minutes, okay?!

Aaaaaaah - !

[Probably a good idea, he is already sort of screaming the second he realizes he's been seen! But he does pause, at least, between the words and realizing that he's not immediately getting attacked again.]

Why?

[rubykomachi]

Because I wanna talk to you! Back then, that thing you said I needed to worry about--it was Hibiki-chan, wasn't it? Did you know it was gonna be her?!

If something bad's gonna happen to my friends, I should know! If I knew it was Hibiki-chan that was gonna be in trouble, I could've...I don't know! Something!

Point is, I wanna be ready next time!

[tworo]

Oh! I'm sorry!

[Dreamer Miraidon jolts to his feet, armor shining and face entirely obscured behind black glass. It's very impressive, maybe, except that he is also holding a piece of dream cheese. Was he trying to take dream cheese?]

[rubykomachi]

[Soleil assesses Miraidon, not sure if she's ever seen this guy in or out of the Dream Sphere. He looks like a superhero, she thinks, but he might be even newer than her judging by his reaction and also the cheese he's holding.]

You're definitely not the guy I'm looking for. What do you even want with cheese?

[The Figment doesn't need to eat. People might dream about being hungry, but they don't actually need to eat while in the Dream Sphere, and the Figment doesn't even have a real stomach to trigger hunger signals in the first place. Such mundane mortal concerns are the very thing Dr. Morado's work was trying to eliminate - why stay in the Waking World, tied down by your physical form, when you can have whatever you want in dreams? So of course he never ate while dreaming. So, of course, the Figment never ate either. It's never eaten.

It knew some Dreamers could produce dream food. It never thought much about it. First it knew that it would never meet them, and then there were so many more important things to worry about. But then it saw some cheese, lying out on the bare ground, and suddenly it realized that it was starving.

It wants this cheese.]

[.....there is no normal way to ask for the cheese. This is an abruptly devastating realization. Fortunately, it wears a full helmet at all times.]

I was just curious about how realistic you made it. What are you looking for?

Well, I was thinking about the cartoon cheeses that mice'll eat and then turn into a big triangle for a bit when I made it. I dunno what it tastes like. This guy I'm looking for had these magic rats he summoned, so I'm gonna see if I can coax 'em out like that.

You didn't happen to see a guy in a hood wandering around, have you? Freakishly tall sometimes, glows a little green?

Um....no, I haven't seen anyone like that.

[That sounds bizarre? Must be a newer Dreamer, or at least newer to the area; Turo didn't know him.]

Who is he? And why are you looking for him?

[rubykomachi]

How's somebody seven feet hide so well? Jeez...

[She shakes her head.]

He's this fortune-teller guy who'll show up and say bad stuff's gonna happen then run off. Problem is he's been right the past couple times, so gotta convince him to go into a little more detail.

[tworo]

....oh....

[Well, it guesses there may as well be a Dreamer that does that...]

He...doesn't want to talk about it when he shows up?

I know, right? It's so weird! Am I just supposed to figure out what it means for myself?

Point is, a lot of weird stuff's been happening lately, so I wanna try and get the jump on it this time before next time the whole Sphere has a problem or another one of my friends disappears into it!
