To the rear!

[ La Pucelle barely manages to erect a shield in time to deflect a Torment that'd popped out of a shadow behind LLENN. They've successfully located an entire nest of them, but that also means the battle has gotten a bit....chaotic.

This is excellent. She wants a commotion. Both to root out these Torments before they become more troublesome, and! ]

En nom Dieu, we shall drag out that Nightmare!

[A commotion was definitely something this particular group was good at making. LLENN couldn't help but draw attention with her incredibly loud weapon. Every time she attacked, she broadcast her location to anything with ears.

As the shield protects her from an attack she hadn't noticed, she turns towards the torment that had made its way behind her. At first her eyes are wide with shock, but soon narrow into an annoyed look. That thing was making her look bad!]

Thanks, weird knight lady!

[The thing doesn't last long now that she knows its there. She moves the moment its gone, to a place a little closer to the other two.]

[ Hibiki has found herself in this kind of situation so much that fighting off hordes of enemies has become kind of routine for her. She even watched a bunch of tokusatsu shows to get a better idea of how to fight large crowds! Surprisingly, this works wonders.

Generally speaking, though, this is perhaps the least subtle team to ever exist. LLENN's gunfire is loud in and of itself, but then there's Hibiki... ]

Throb hard! (G-beat!) Take a swing at the meter (G-beat!) with a bang!
Using both my hands, using my song, I will protect you!
Break through! (G-beat!) Set these beliefs ablaze (G-beat!) violently!
Stuff like "limits"—I don't need them, don't know them
I swear, never will I separate our hands!

[ Well, it's no surprise at this point that bringing Hibiki along means completely sacrificing the ability to be subtle once the fighting begins. If nothing else, she's absolutely tearing through Torments on her side. If one looks over in her direction, they'll be able to see a steady stream of Torments being knocked high up into the air as Hibiki sings. ]

[ While the group themselves lacks in subterfuge, the Torments seem determined to fill that gap. It's like they're one with the shadows, knowing that to be seen by this group is to be eliminated (if not by sniper fire, then by catchy Elements Garden music). La Pucelle, with her inferior firepower, knows she won't do any good by fighting exactly the same way as her companions.

So she leaps atop the nearest spire and summons the light of her holy sword. Except instead of shaping it and firing it, as is her usual wont - she lets it spread across the battlefield, illuminating their opponents. If you haven't got a shadow, you can't hide in a shadow.

Whether you're long-distance or melee combat, targets just got a lot easier to find! Supporting their soldiers is the job of a commander! ]

[The area was a bit of a detriment to LLENN's normal hit and run fighting style. As a Dreamer, she wasn't strong at all physically, so made up for it with speed and cleverness. Her speed was difficult to use in such a confined space with poor lighting, though. She could very easily crash into something if she wasn't careful, and though she was getting over the nervousness of not having been with the Dreamer Union that long, there was still that desire in the back of her head reminding her she still needed to prove herself reliable.

La Pucelle was a new face, but LLENN had fought alongside Gungnir enough to be familiar with her style. She'd be there to assist if she thought the other girl was getting into trouble, but she was confident the trouble would just get punched anyway. She wasn't entirely sure what to expect of the knightly girl, but she seemed reliable enough. The light she provided went to good use, the little pink soldier mowing down torments without a shred of hesitation, wearing a stern look that looks out of place on her cute, rounded face.]

...! Thanks, Jeannette-chan...!!

[ The light is a great help, allowing Hibiki to start blowing through the Torments that had attempted to stay hidden and catch them off-guard. More than that, though, now that they can see everything without the darkness in the way... ]

I won't lose to the weight, the duty, or the fate of the meaning to the power I seized
Even if I have to hurt something in order to protect it
I won't avert my eyes from that pain any longer

[ They can see that they've done a pretty good job of whittling down the numbers. The darkness had given it the impression that there were more of them, but now that it's gone... ]

Even more! (Let's shout!) I have to come to terms with the resolve I hold
Suddenly (Let's shout!) I won't be able to face towards my future

[ Hibiki starts to take them down with renewed vigor. Even if they haven't found the Nightmare yet, taking out this many is bound to do some good. ]

I shall light it - as long as I can -

[ No matter how much it burns of her own stamina.....She will NOT let the Torments ambush her friends! (You're a friend now, LLENN. She has met you. Ergo. Yeah.)

The light flickers, however, even as the last Torments fade. Is it because La Pucelle feels they've cleared it out, or -

Nope. It's because a gasp of joy has just turned into one of shock when a SCREECH breaks through the song playing on the battlefield and the sound of rifle shot.

What was that about not having found the Nightmare yet, Hibiki? ]

[Surely this new and sudden friendship would last when La Pucelle finds out the tiny pink soldier was actually a tall college girl with self esteem issues, right? As LLENN, she didn't seem to have any issues. She was having a jolly time utterly annihilating the torments alongside Gungnir. She fought with such brutal efficiency, it would not be weird to find it disturbing. That cute little face of hers wears the biggest smile every time she blasted one of the monsters in what passed as its face.]

Don't tired yourself out too much, knight lady. We haven't even found our actual target y....

[And on queue, she's interrupted by the loud screech. Its enough to shake the girl out of her violent revelry and get her looking skyward wearing a startled expression that can be seen even in the flickering light.]

Good thing we got rid of most of the tiny ones already!

Eh? EHHH!? IT'S FLYING!?

[ Hibiki looks up at the large eagle nightmare with wide eyes. How the heck are they gonna deal with that!? None of them have any particular way of dealing with fast, airborne enemies...

...hey, wait a minute— ]

Ah...!

[ Just now remembering that she can also fly... Hibiki's wings burst forth from her back, and just in time, as the Nightmare wastes no time in divebombing them... but with Hibiki's ability to fly, she's able to shoot into the air and meet it head-on and before it can build up too much momentum on the way down. ]

.......an angel.

[ yeah sorry ladies, rule of funny says jeannette's gonna help NEXT round but this one she's gotta doki

[LLENN is not shocked nearly as much as Jeannette is, but even she is taken by surprise when Hibiki just suddenly takes off into the sky.]

Wait, you can FLY now?

[Its a good thing, as well. She could hit it up there, but its rapid movement would make it tough. Hibiki being up there would also limit her, but they were a team, right? She didn't have to do it all herself.]

W..well, whatever. Punch that thing hard and knock out of the sky!

[She doesn't fire, but aims her weapon skyward, tracking the monster as best as she can.]

[ Ah yes, the unfortunate drawback to Hibiki’s wings… the small chance of inflicting stun via dokis as a result of her angelic majesty… female Dreamers beware.

More seriously, Hibiki really wasn’t sure what else to do, but she recognizes that it’s very likely a bad idea to just try and fight this Nightmare solo. Still… ]

ORYAH!!

[ She delivers a punch to the giant bird midair… but it’s not enough to knock it out of the sky, as it quickly recovers and lashes back at Hibiki with it’s talons. ]

[ OH NO, THE ANGEL--

wait, the angel is Hibiki, get your head back on, Dreamer La Pucelle!

Jeannette shakes her head to clear it of any residual hallucinatory holy halo, and swipes her sword - behind her? ]

I'm coming!

[ She has summoned an enormous church bell made of light, which as it tolls, builds up power - oh. Oh, she has summoned an enormous church-bell-shaped-CANNON.

That she is firing at herself to launch herself at the bird. Not her friend! You will NOT harm her friend! ]

HYaaaaaaaaa----

[ Shot incoming. With, uh, bonus Dreamer.

Look, her shield is Rank E in this fight, okay? Best defense a good offense and all that. ]

[It is a terrifying feeling that goes through LLENN's head when she realizes she's the sane one here. The bullet happy pink bunny who loves her gun a little too much? Yes, she's the least crazy one.

Or maybe its just her utter lack of a way to launch herself skyward that prevents her from doing so. She could try blasting herself with a grenade, but that would probably just turn a three on one fight into a two on one.]

Y..you're both crazy!

[The best she can do is hop atop the tallest nearby object, which of course happens to look like a tombstone. She blocks it out as best as she can, readjusting her aim, and opening fire on the giant avian. She's no expert sniper, and its only a short burst as she doesn't want to hit either of the airborne dreamers. (who are crazy, don't forget this)]

[ Hibiki deflects the Nightmare's talons with her fists, but while she's able to match the Nightmare, she has the disadvantage of having a limited amount of time she can spend in the air with her wings... and is this thing something she can take down by herself in five minutes? She isn't sure...

But fortunately, her fellow Dreamer has her own way of getting up here and providing support. ]

Jeannette-chan...!!

[ Hibiki quickly delivers a spinning kick to the Nightmare, knocking it's balance off a little more and leaving it open to the projectile known as Dreamer La Pucelle, not to mention the shots being fired by LLENN from the ground.

Of course, after La Pucelle collides with the Nightmare, it's up to Hibiki to swoop in and catch her as gravity starts to take hold of her once again and soar further up with Jeannette in her arms. ]

[ It was NOT crazy! Not when La Pucelle knew she could rely on her companions, and when she needed to be of service to them as well.

Wind whipping around in her hair (Dreamer Gungnir may be holding her princess-carry-style), she points her sword down at the Nightmare. ]

We must ground it to defeat it. Aim for the wings!

[The problem with being the sane one is that LLENN does all her best work when she goes crazy and stops worrying so much. Overthinking things and not doing them by instinct always makes her fight worse. So maybe it was time she did something at least mildly reckless.

Still standing atop her perch, she stops firing her pink gun and takes it in one gloved hand. She stretches the other one out, where an equally pink metallic orb appears in.]

Hey! Explosives incoming! I'll knock that thing down, get ready to break its legs when it hits the ground!

[And with that, she hurls the grenade skyward. With nowhere near the level of strength it requires to make it high enough to hit the Nightmare. But this is where her own reckless stunt comes in. With a sudden flicker of her super speed, she does a precise back flip off her perch, one foot connecting with the explosive pink device and hurtling it skyward with much more speed then her throwing arm could have managed. Its the sort of trick that was only possible because it was a dream and she wanted to look cool. It was on course to intercept the eagle as well, provided it didn't make any sudden changes in its flight patterns.]

Four....three....two.....one....

[The countdown is more for Hbiki's sake then her own. Not long after the one, the sky flashes pink as her attack detonates, hopefully hitting ONLY her target!]

Ah…!

[ With Gungnir flying with La Pucelle held in a princess carry, she sees LLENN’s grenade soar high into the sky… and in seeing the path it’s taking, flaps her angelic wings and soars further into the dreaming heavens, higher than the Nightmare…

The grenade hits it’s target, a pink explosion erupts, the massive bird lets out a nightmarish caw as it’s flight falters… ]

NOW!! TOGETHER!!

[ Hibiki releases… or rather, throws La Pucelle down towards the Nightmare before shooting downward herself. Two Dreamers, soaring rapidly downward, right at the Nightmarish falcon…! ]

THROB HARD!! (G-beat!) Take a swing at the meter!! (G-beat!) with a bang!!

BREAK THROUGH!!! (G-beat!) Set these beliefs ablaze! (G-beat!) VIOLENTLY!!!

[ Gungnir becomes a falling spear, reaching terminal velocity in an instant… a shooting star, colliding with her target and bringing it crashing to the ground… and alongside La Pucelle as well. ]

[ Down goes the beast! Down goes Gungnir! Down goes La Pucelle!

Who wraps her sword in holy light so that a specter of the Lance of Longinus impales the eagle at the same time as, well, uh.....the Lance of.....[Symphogear spoilers here]. Anyway, double stabby, big shooty.

When the dust begins to clear, La Pucelle lights her sword up again, but this time to indicate her position. ]

Is it defeated?

[ If it's not, she's probably just drawn its attention, but she's all right with that. If her comrades can see her, and it's after her, then they also know where it is.

Self-preservation is for other people. ]

[LLENN is smart enough to not be at the impact point as the three-pronged attack brings their enemy out of sky. She isn't armored like La Pucelle, nor did she defy reality like Gungnir, so getting squished would be very bad for her tiny little frame. But her eyes are trained on it the entire time as the Nightmare falls, and she's moving the moment its safe to do so. In a flash, she's zipped over and is standing over it, weapon pointed down at.]

Its still there, so probably not. But I'm not giving it a chance to get back into the air, watching you two up there stressed me out way too much! And now....

[She looks at the Nightmare with one of those stern looks that seems out of place on such an adorable face.]

...I've got something to take all that stress out on!

[Hopefully the sound of her submachine gun going off at such close range won't hurt anyone's ears, because she's firing like crazy. Despite calling for broken legs, she's specifically targeting one of the wings. It may be a dream, but even in dreams, birds don't fly with wings shredded by bullets, right?]

[ Honestly at this point it feels almost mean, like they're kicking it while it's down, but... ]

Ah, well, it's not moving...

[ That was a pretty devastating blow, after all. A combined attack from both La Pucelle and Gungnir, followed up with hitting the ground that hard... it's hard to tell with all the dust that's still clearing, but... ]

I think we got it—ah!

[ Just then, there's a twitch and— ]

HAH!!

[ If Hibiki was feeling bad for it earlier, it really doesn't show as Hibiki proceeds to immediately deliver one last punch at the first sign that it wasn't finished... and fortunately, that seems to be the finishing blow, as the massive bird starts to disappear.

...Brutal. ]

[ La Pucelle is not put off by her companions' violence. Instead, as the giant bird flickers to wisps, and then to nothing -

She lowers the shield she needed to raise at the last second to deal with all of those bullets (and, frankly, the noise), then grins. Her ears are ringing, but surely, that is the heavenly host celebrating their victory. ]

The day is ours! Most well done. Now, perhaps the people of Yumemigaoka can sleep more soundly.....

[ Yes. Anything is worth it if she can protect her home. And with comrades like these, she shall never fail! ]
