[ Jeanne nods. She thinks she knows what Junna means. ]

Things are close, but not too close. The people are friendly, and there is green....

She looks up at the nearest tree, whose branches are currently engaged in a lovely powdered-sugar-pretzel impersonation, and amends. ]

....In the right seasons.

[That might confirm Junna's suspicions that she's French. She smiles a little, but doesn't comment.

There's a nod -- and then a laugh, as she looks around.]

"At Christmas, I no more desire a rose than wish a snow in May’s new-fangled mirth; but like of each thing that in season grows." [If it sounds like a quote, it is. Junna smiles brighter, then she nods.] Every season has its place and its charm, I think.

And knowing the green will be back makes me appreciate it even more!

[ ....there's a Fate/ joke in here somewhere about quoting Shakespeare to Jeanne d'Arc, but this Jeanne is not very good at Literature and misses it entirely. ]

I am the same. So let us clear a path for our good friends the shopkeepers of Yumemigaoka, and those who will visit them! They can enjoy the winter without fear.

[ It seems chatting with Junna has indeed lit a fire inside her, for she is attacking the snow with newfound enthusiasm. Away with you....Over to the side, here, where you shall bother no one! (And perhaps the children may use you for snowmen!) ]

[Alas! Not that Junna minds. Jeanne's energy is infectious. She smiles brighter and nods, fiercely.]

Mm! Let's! They'll have nothing to fear from slippery sidewalks.

[And then she's back at it, too, shoveling large piles of snow next to Jeanne's. Perfect for snowmen or snow forts later!]

[ Working side by side with a friend is wonderful. Jeannette is silent for a moment, concentrating on the work, but then glances over through eyelashes with snowflakes stuck in them. ]

Um....do you mind if I ask about you as a Dreamer....?

[ She doesn't want to break Junna's focus if it's needed for their task! But she is so curious. As the future commander.....No, as people who want to protect the same wonderful home. ]

[Junna slows for a second -- but there's a quick nod.]

Oh, yes, please, ask away.

[She's still at it, though she's a little slower -- it's not a pace she could do forever, and she wants to hear Jeanne, too.]

Do you have a combat specialty?

[ No worries if not! Jeanne doesn't know how long Junna's been a Dreamer, and Novices tend to still be figuring out that sort of thing. And even within an Archetype, different people have different fighting styles. One can hardly expect every Striker to be fine with Jeanne launching them out of a cannon the way Chaosbringer would.... ]

I'm a Striker. I use a bow, so--well, I'm a little more of... a ranged Striker, I suppose. I'm still getting all of that figured out.

[She clarifies, because she's seen a fair number of Strikers that get up close. Which is not how Dreamer Sage rolls!]

[ Jeannette's eyes sparkle. It is not just because of the snow in her eyelashes. ]

You - you are artillery??!!

[ Ranged weapons are incredible! They keep their users safe by putting distance between them and the target.....Her dear angel is an expert with a sword, of course, but prefers ranged weapons!! ]

[Junna blinks once. She laughs a little, then shakes her head.]

W-Well... a bow, not a cannon, but... I do fight from afar, yes!

[But she did picture, for a moment, an oversized sandglass bombard and it's a delightful image.]

She brightens up and nods in a serious way. (Theater kids.)]

Do you often work with other Dreamers?

[ Jeannette continues to shovel, but her interest has been fully piqued by getting to know Junna better. Maybe they have friends in common! She'd like to protect Yumemigaoka with Junna and their friends.... ]

I do. I'm with the Dreamer Union... and I often work with my mentor, Dreamer Hanako. And with several others, too -- Rhodonite, Tycoon, Prisma...

[She smiles a bit, looking sideways at Jeannette. It's true of her, too; she's still at the shoveling, but her attention is on this potential new friend.]

It has been so long, I am finding my place. But you - you work with Lisa!

[ Of those names, one had stood out. ]

Ah--ah, yes, I do! [She smiles a bit more at the mention of Lisa.]

Are you friends?

Oui!

[ DRAT. ]

Ah - um....

[ everybody knows "oui", at least, right....? she hasn't just left the person she's talking with out of the loop by suddenly speaking french....? ]

That's... [She kind of knows.

It takes a second to remember her French.] ...a yes?

[ Her cheeks flame. ]

Which is to say, um, Lisa is my dear friend.....

[She hesitates. She should mention even if it feels a little awkward still. Almost like boasting.

Lisa and I are--ah--we're dating.

[ Dating? Jeannette pauses. Had she heard that correctly? Junna and Lisa...are...

Her cheeks flush, and she bursts into a smile, she's so happy for the both of them. Finding love is a great thing! ]

Ah! Like in Saint Catherine's?! That is so wonderful....!!

[ Saint Catherine's, if Junna is up on her popular fiction, is a series of yuri novels set in Catholic school. You Know The Type. ]

Like in-- [It takes Junna a sec, but then she nods. With a little laugh. No, she knows Saint Catherine's, she just didn't quite expect it to come up.] --Yes, a little like that. Maybe less uniforms.

Ah, thank you, though! Which... is all to say, we do work together. [She laughs a little awkwardly.]

[ She had been hoping to work more closely with Lisa before being called away to France, after all. And she likes what she has seen of Junna, as well!
