[She immediately gets her tone to be more polite. This is someone older than her! A veteran! An adult--well, she graduates this year. But still.]

It's not easy. I didn't join until I was in college, so I'm always impressed by you kids who start younger... but I worry too.

It's a lot to balance. I've learned a lot about how to do that, though.
