How are you feeling? I only arrived a couple of months ago, so I have no baseline for what's 'normal' or not in this neck of the Dream Sphere.

There's only so much of a 'normal' but I'd say we're living through some interesting incidents.

[ She rolls her neck. ]

It's exciting as a researcher, but scary as a person caught up in it.

[olruggio]

... The Disturbances I keep seeing reports on, you mean?

It's odd how it seems to be localized here. [pause] Can you even research it? From the sound of it, all Disturbances dissolve upon rescuing the person inside.

[flatcola]

Mmmhm. It's tough to build a full data set, so I have to put together what I can before we resolve it. It's actually kind of a dilemma, you know? The faster we solve it, the less we learn, but we can't hold off intentionally because that'd be insanely cruel.

[ And Kozakura would sooner quit entirely than do that. She's read... a lot... about cruelty masquerading as research. ]

[olruggio]

... You would have to convince the other Dreamers to slow down as well, and I doubt any of them would take kindly to being told to do such a thing. The last thing we need is for our own people to think we don't care about them.

In spite of the difficulty, I'm glad to hear it. That the research team still values people's lives over what they could potentially learn. [sigh] I suppose the reports are helpful, to a degree, but...

[he'll be the first to admit that while he's got an eye for detail and a fair bit of creativity but actual research? Not his field of expertise]

Yeah, I know a lot of them all too well.

[ Even the others who care about research. ]

Still, progress is always being made. I can't really complain in that regard.

... I s'pose not. Any progress is good progress inyour field.

[sigh]

Times like these I'm reminded of why I chose real life deadlines over full time Dream Work. Feeling up to getting back to work?

[granted, Torch has been working, but... Details]

...I guess I oughta get back, yeah.
