It's okay to say no, and it's okay not to know. Being a Dreamer... [Chaosbringer sighs. His rather somber tone is completely at odds with the way he's hooked an arm around the neck of one Torment to wallop the crap out of it.] This is something that grew out of the DU, and Ai, and even my own job as well. The idea that being a Dreamer is a responsibility. That whole with-great-power thing. And you know, sometimes it is. In a Disturbance, we're the only ones who can help. Or when things start going really haywire and the waking world is getting messed with too.

But beyond that? Being a Dreamer is part of who you are, yeah. But that doesn't obligate you. I have working hands and a mouth and I'm not obligated to play the jolly trombone. Or if you want to get cruder, neither of us have to have a biological kid, even if we're equipped for it.

But there's all this bloody pressure. To learn, to get better, to take on stronger foes. To contribute to the DU. To not let down your fellow Dreamers, whatever you consider that to be. Somewhere along the line, it becomes a job, when it's supposed to be a joy. Really something us older Dreamers are not doing right by you guys on.

[Abruptly, Chaosbringer releases the Torment he's pummeling, shoves it away one-handed, then draws the Purple Lightning Dreamsmasher and slams it, point-first, into the ground. A bolt of lightning cracks down from the sky, channeling into the platform to send electricity into the gathered and gathering Torments.]

I don't want you to look at me and think, "That guy's a great Dreamer, he's powerful and capable and cool. I need to work hard to be as good as him." I want you to look at me and think... "That guy is having the bloody time of his life. And I want to live that way too."
