[Indeed, he’s got several scripts! It doesn’t seem that he’s picky about genre, though they are mostly in Japanese with maybe one or two from the English section.]

I don't know most of these, they've probably never been translated.

[She peers at them, looking over the covers.

She recognizes quite a few. But, that's the power of Theater Kid.]

That's a good selection! The one in the middle there, The Three Musketeers, is a great adaptation. And you've got Hamlet, always a classic.

Oh, yeah, of course! Never read it in - anything other than Spanish, actually. I'm curious to see how it's different!

[Presumably it isn't significantly so, but Bruno knows well enough that translation is never exactly 100% identical.]

I'm curious! I can't speak or read Spanish, unfortunately. Enough English for some plays, though.

[She nods. She's seen some differences in translation to get by.

Then, Junna holds up a few plays herself -- a couple more modern Japanese plays, a copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a translated Tennessee Williams play -- and then a shoujo manga and a travel guide to Okinawa.]

...It might be about as much as I sold, to be honest.

I thought it might be nice to do sometime! Before I start university next year, but now that I've graduated.

[She laughs, looking a little sheepish.] It's a plan to make a plan at this point.

Ah, well, that - that sounds nice! It's good to, uh, get out there and travel, I guess. Sure's broadened my horizons.

That's what I've always heard. I'm not sure I have the money to go overseas, but... some place I've never been in Japan seemed nice.

[A pause.] When did you move here, Bruno-san? It must have been an adjustment.

Little over a year ago now. It was, uh...definitely an adjustment, yeah. But it's been a long time since I lived at home anyway.

[Granted, still being in or near Colombia was a hell of a lot more like home than being in Japan, but, you know. He also doesn't really have to look over his shoulder and worry about being recognized all the time, so there's some trade-offs.]

Mm, that makes sense. [She nods her head, considering.] It sounds like you've lived a few different places, though!

Oh, yeah, I've traveled around! Just in South America, until I came here.

[Never all that far from home, either. As close as he could manage without feeling like he was at risk, anyway. Too far off, and he couldn't keep hiding in their old Dream Sphere haunts...he wonders how they're doing now?]

That's still amazing to me. I hope I get the chance to go there, someday. [She wants to travel, after all.]

Ah--where were you from originally, if it's okay to ask?

Ah - Venezuela.

[He never picked a specific place there, because no one has ever asked! He should maybe do that, though!]

Ah! [She doesn't know much about Venezuela, unfortunately.

But... she can always learn.]

I'd like to go, one day. After I learn a little Spanish. And other parts of South America, too.

Oh! Yeah, that'd be cool. Gotta make sure you learn that Spanish and not, uh...I'm not sure how to say it in Japanese. The Spanish from Spain? All the tourists who learned Spanish somewhere else always talk like they're from Spain, it sounds weird. Like, weirdly formal.

Oh--oh, yes, I can see how that would be. I've heard it's... common for people learning a foreign language to sound too formal. I suppose it comes with... learning in a school setting?

Yeah, and they have extra grammar. Like, uh, formal and informal versions. We don't do that.

[Japanese is also pretty big on that kind of thing, admittedly, so maybe it wouldn't sound so weird to her as it does to him.]

I know a thing or two about that, admittedly... but I imagine it would be different. But, um, it would also be awkward to speak the entirely wrong kind of Spanish for the place I'm visiting.

Yeah, yeah, maybe so. Especially if you went somewhere they aren't used to a ton of tourists. I, uh, I've lived both kinds of places, there.

[The Encanto got tourists like the DU does, but not so much international ones.]

Oh--oh, that makes sense. [Junna scratches at her cheek, looking thoughtful.] I'd like to try to see the famous sites, but... I was hoping to visit a lot of theaters. And the Andes, too.

Oooooh, theatres! That sounds fun!

[The Andes - eh, whatever. Bruno's more of a theatre kid than an outdoorsy type.]

Mm-hm! I've wanted to see the theaters in as many different countries as I can!

Aw, that sounds really nice. I've always loved the theatre, but I - I haven't been in a long time, you know? I didn't really...well, I couldn't back home for a while.

[Money. It was the money. That and the exposure, but - anyway, Bruno guesses he could have tried that again here, but at first he didn't understand the language well enough, and then...he's not too sure.]

Ah, I understand. [She doesn't for sure -- but it's probably a matter of means or some other difficulty that prevented it.] Well... if you ever want to and it's not a burden, I can vouch for the Riverwalk Theater. They do a lot of good performances!

Oh yeah? I haven't - uh, haven't been to any around here either.

[It's hard to move past the instinctive knowledge that such things are Not For Him. Not anymore, and really not ever. He has the money now, though. He has the time, and the freedom of anonymity. No one's going to say it's a waste of his time or talents.]

I really should, though...
