I have no idea!

[Diplomatically, Zeke ignores that terrible coughing fit as he leans on the table to look at the wares.]

Never certain just what to get to show support around this time. Any recommendations?

[If the coughing fit didn't have Amane choking before, Zeke's sudden appearance sure does now, hastening to straighten himself up out of reflex. He's definitely seen this guy around before-- not quite in the DU offices, since Amane avoided those like the plague, but he was hard to ignore over in the Dream Sphere (and Ai's no doubt told him stories, too). Thankfully, the mask provided Amane with more identity protection than usual, but... what were the chances a DU bigwig would stop here of all places??]

U-Um... [He makes an attempt to clear his throat, to ease his nerves a little] I've heard there's a flag for Allies, but I'm... not really sure we have anything with that on it right now, so maybe... just a regular rainbow pot? Or keychain, we got a lot of those, too.

[Finley for sure knew more about LGBT culture than Amane did, but he was already busy enough working on painting the pots that he didn't really want to bug him about it right now. But hopefully it was a close enough answer?]

['Hard to ignore' is a good description from a guy who can be heard shouting 'BRINGER OF CHAOS!' from halfway across the Dream Sphere. His average office getup is way too subdued (and distinctly spoiled by him still wearing an eyepatch).]

A keychain! That'll work great. I can hang it off my lanyard while I'm in the office.

[A lanyard would be better! But who's going to be picky about what's being offered? ]

[Lanyards probably would have been a smart thing to have in stock, considering the amount of office workers around, but... alas, they couldn't really find any with a good plant motif, and they had to stay on theme! However...]

Ah... we do have bracelets and pins, too, if you think that'll work better with your lanyard. Or stickers, but that might block your ID or something, so that's up to you.

[Amane might be under the weather at the moment (physically and emotionally), but he still knew how to push product when it counted!!!]

Heh, privilege of being a director, I can choose to not dress fancy if I can get away with it. A pin would be great too, though. Why settle for just one?

Hmm, sticker though. There's got to be someplace for that...

[Sometimes the best sales tactic is to gently suggest something and let them choose on their own...!! Though the fact that Zeke is already eager to buy more makes things both easier and harder for Amane-- easier because he doesn't have to keep going with the sales pitch, but harder because... well, now he's gonna have to grab all of that. But! If it means more allowance money in his pocket, he'll endure it.]

Maybe... on a work folder or clipboard or something...? That's if they let you put stuff on their property, anyway.

Sounds like a nice gig, though. Where do you work?

The Department of Armaments, Materials, and Necessities (Including Therapy) under the Bureau for the Education, Government Oversight, and Operations for Dreamers.

[He says this with such pride, too. Some people view the Bureau as unnecessary government interference, and some as a clumsy means of control, but Zeke's absolutely committed to the true shining principle underlying all those promises.]

[Amane probably understood like... a fraction of what any of that meant (he's thirteen, after all, and no one his age knew anything about bureaucracy), but from what he could glean from it... this guy was a big deal. A very big deal. And here he was, a Dreamer trying to keep his real identity under wraps, just sitting in front of this guy like a dumb duck. Still, Zeke didn't seem to have recognized him, so maybe he was in the clear... hopefully.]

Oh. That sounds like... [Pretend you know what he's talking about, Amane!!] a lot.

It's then that another coughing fit decides to take hold, and he turns his head away as he lets it ride out. Sure, he had the mask on, but it still felt like the proper thing to do.]

U-Um, so-- that's pretty neat you work with Dreamers, though. I've never really met any myself [LIAR], but I'm sure the workplace never gets boring when they're involved.

[Zeke makes a point of not assuming any connections between waking and the Dream Sphere unless he's been specifically told them. How many people just end up way different as a Dreamer, after all? It's not like everyone just is themselves-but-in-a-skirt like he is.]

Clearly, you've never done bureaucracy. Although a lot of my job is delegating that to other people so I don't have to deal with it. Dreamers are a mess and a half sometimes, so we need results more than we need checklists and procurement contracts!

I mean... I am in middle school, so...

[That probably should answer that when it came to his bureaucracy experience!! Though given his limited knowledge on the subject, maybe that was a silly question to pose. But still...]

Is there really that much legal stuff involved with being a Dreamer, though? I thought they just... go in and fight monsters and the Union just keeps them organized.

[Clearly someone hadn't throughly read their paperwork when they registered at the DU!!]

The Union has its fair share, don't get me wrong. But the government, now that's paperwork central. Everything has to be accountable when it's taxpayer money on the line. Not that that's a bad thing, but...

[Zeke shakes his head. If it weren't for Dreaming he'd go insane from the sheer banality of it all. The hours he spends asleep make up for the hours he's waking.]

[Honestly, just hearing him talk about it was making his brain fizz... things like taxes and what they were spent on were WAY above his comprehension level. Maybe he'd get it more in another five or so years, when he was an actual adult, but...]

Ah... I see.

[He does not see. Not at ALL.]

... y'know, I think I'm just going to give you the sticker and pin for free. It sounds like you have a lot on your hands already, so...

[Zeke flings his arms wide, quite too melodramatic.]

[Oh god-- Amane's eyes dart quickly up and down the street to see if anyone was staring, and not for the first time, he's grateful not a lot of people stop along this way. He had assumed Chaosbringer's Dreamer persona was just an act, but-- he was seriously like this in the real world too? Was the eyepatch even legit??]

Well, I'm not about to give you everything for free...

If you really wanted to offer support, one of the employees here went and painted a lot of these pots for sale. [And he taps on the side of one of the many Pride flag decorated cacti decorating the table.] He helped organize and come up with a lot of this, so getting one of these would probably be the best way to go about it, I think.

[After all, Amane himself couldn't say where he was in the community just yet-- he was still figuring things out-- but Finley was pretty open about his queer identity, so it only felt fitting to push the stuff he worked on more!]

Way ahead of you, chum, I've already got a line on a pair. [Zeke's here to drop money at every place he can, after all. The prices keep being right!]

A lot of people have done some jolly fantastic work around here. Almost makes me wish I had a scrap of skill for any of that!

[Well, as long as he's got the money to burn, Amane's not gonna complain!! Camellia certainly needed the boost, especially with it's aging out demographic and lack of trendy appeal compared to some of the other spots in Moon Bunny Market. He's about to ask which ones Zeke had his eye on, when his last comment throws him for a loop.]

I-I mean-- I'm assuming you are, if you work at the offices, right? I think that's a skill enough alone to make up for any artistic talents or anything.

[Though maybe Amane's just speaking from a place of bare minimal artistic ability himself.....]

[Zeke folds his arms. Dramatically, of course. But now he's being more serious than usual.]

Being a Dreamer's a jolly blessing, or a gift, or whatever you want to call it. Sure, you can get better at some of the things that make it up, like fighting or exploring, but those are just parts that you have to build on top of the huge luck of becoming a Dreamer to start with. But art, that's a skill that demands practice, practice, and practice. Some people may start out more or less talented, but there's no burden to entry.
